Counterfeiting continues to grow, but the industry fights back

EDN.com ran an article on the 3rd of March with the title “Counterfeiting continues to grow, but the industry fights back”.

According to the article, the counterfeit problem increased last year because of the lengthening lead times on many component parts. The article goes on to say that China is still the culprit in much of the electronics counterfeiting, and there is an expectation to see an insurgence from India although it hasn’t happened yet.

The conclusion of the article is that although counterfeiting is still a major problem in the electronics industry, vigilance and improved law enforcement are helping to curb the damage.
