The ESCS A2Z Inspection & Test Protocols with Check List document comprising eleven pages was developed by ESCS in 2008. The idea of the document is to give best practice solutions for assessing electronic component authenticity and functionality in conformance with the original manufacturer’s data sheet where required pedigree is not available.
ESCS had been working in tandem with the SAE G-19 Counterfeit Committee who had almost finalised a document called SAE AS5553. They incorporated the latest best practices with their real world life experiences for testing for counterfeit components.
But the best news is that the ESCS A2Z document is now a freely available (previously it cost US$275!). You just need to register your details and they will email a copy to you.
