In a report to the Committee on Armed Services, U.S. Senate, released a few weeks ago, the United States Government Accountability Office presented a detailed investigation they had carried out into procuring suspect counterfeit electronic parts. They created a fictitious company and gained membership to two Internet platforms providing access to vendors selling military-grade electronic parts. They received a number of components and then sent them to an independent testing lab only. The conclusion was that they found it easy to purchase counterfeit milspec parts via private sector Internet buying.
