US Semiconductor analyst company HIS iSuppli, already reported in February, that 2011 was a record year for counterfeit reporting. According to the firm, incidents of counterfeit parts have tripled during the past two years.
In a press release this month they have determined the most prevalent types of counterfeit which in order of highest prevalence are analogue ICs, microprocessor ICs, memory ICs, programmable logic ICs and transistors. More information can be found at their website.
